TABLEtalk
Even when I'm super tired, TABLEtalk is still one of my favourite times of the week. Last night we said "welcome back" to some continuing students, "hello" to Jose and Emma, new students from Ecuador and Vietnam ... and a very sad "goodbye" to Afaf from Jordan.
We had a great time playing my new, yet to be patented, 'Getting to Know You' board game. In fact we could have gone on well past our 9:30pm stop time!!
I know that it's hard for new students to come out in the dark and the cold on a Thursday evening, but I can't begin to express the benefits of TABLEtalk. Come along and see for yourself.

World Cafe starts again
It's that time of year when all our activities are starting up again. Yesterday our weekly World Cafe got off to a great start with approx. 60 students, both new and longer-term, paying us a visit.
Knife Angel sculture
Hope you haven't missed out on seeing this incredible sculpture at Rochester Cathedral ... Saturday Sept 28th is your last chance.
Created as a national monument against violence and aggression the statue took four years to make, is 27 feet tall (8.23 metres) and is made from 100,000 confiscated knives.

Leeds Castle
Many thanks to the International department at University of Kent for allowing me to join in a day trip to Leeds Castle.
It was just a shame that of the few Kent internationals from Medway Campus who signed up for this day ... only five people turned up :-(
In addition to the castle, the grounds are beautiful. Although it rained part of the day, it was still good to explore.

Congratulations, Dev & Suvarna
These lovely people are Devashish and Suvarna, both of whom graduated from the University of Greenwich, having successfully completed their Masters programmes.
But, in the process of all that study ... fell madly, deeply in love.
Whilst I've been here, sweating away over preparation for a new academic year, many of our former students have been in Mauritius for Dev & Suvarna's wedding.
But, in the process of all that study ... fell madly, deeply in love.
Sonali has been sending photos and videos, and making me feel more and more sad and jealous about everything I've missed
