A Final Farewell

You've heard the saying, 'Better late, than never'.  Well, that's actually a pretty poor excuse for taking so long to put this blog post together. My only excuse is that, in this past week, I've travelled to Gloucestershire, signed the contract on my new flat in Pershore, Worcestershire, recruited a painter/decorator, measured and re-measured, chosen a fridge/freezer, looked at beds, bought a lovely nest of tables for £5, and made endless lists 😊😊😊

My final and formal farewell from the Universities at Medway, was such a blessing and I want to thank everyone who came and wished me well.  Thankyou, especially, to Sharon, Nicky & Jody for organising the whole affair.

Thankyou, Erkan and team, for the scrumptious buffet and cake. Thankyou, Mark, for your speech ... really not sure who that woman was you were talking about, but THANK YOU!!!

It's not easy to find the words to express how I've been feeling. Whilst being very much at peace that this is God's timing for me to retire and move location, I am leaving something that has been more than a job, it's been my life's calling; and I'm leaving many friends and colleagues who have helped to shape my journey along the way.

THANK YOU, does not feel sufficient, but please know that it comes from a heart full of love and appreciaition.  For those who have helped to champion Chaplaincy itself, and also for those who have been there for me personally through challenges and occasional tears & tantrums.

I'm sure I'll pop back for a visit sometime, try not to forget me too quickly and, if you're ever passing through Pershore, the kettle is always on 😀😀😀
