Christmas at the World Cafe

Our numbers were a little less at the World Cafe today - some of our European students have already left. We had a great time though and there was certainly plenty to eat :-)

I just love Frank's elf face :-)
Today was also Abiodun's birthday :-)

Campus Carol Service

Doing prayers
My decorations are up at home and the campus Carol service has been and gone, which means that the Christmas season is most definitely upon us :-)
Warming up for Jingle bells!

It's always good to see so many in attendance, especially those for whom a carol service is not the cultural or religious norm.

Thank you Sally, for organising this event!!

Our evening was made complete with a showing of the film 'The Grinch who stole Christmas'

From Chris Tozer

For those of you who know and miss Chris Tozer (one of our former faithful TABLEtalk helpers) here is a typical Chris joke ...

An Englishman, a Scotsman, an Irishman, a Welshman, a Latvian, a Turk, an Aussie, two Kiwis, a German, an American, a South African, a Cypriot, an Egyptian, a Japanese, a Mexican, a Spaniard, a Lithuanian, a Swede, a Finn, a Dane, a Bulgarian, a Swiss, a Greek, a Bulgarian, a Singaporean, a Norwegian, a Libyan, an Italian, a Serb, a Russian and an Ethiopian went to a bar.
The bouncer said, "I'm sorry, you can't come in here without a Thai"

Sunday Lunch Scheme

"Jane, thanks for the lovely day. I am lucky to be twice at your home for the lunch. The non-veg food was awesome. This time I am also feeling happy to meet Roy,  he is a very humble and witty person :)  I officially started my Christmas celebration with your special Christmas Pudding.  The day is fulfilled with my new Egyptian friends -‎ they are rocking." Dickensian Christmas

There's always lots to see and experience at the Dickensian Christmas weekend  ...  the mid-day parade, the Christmas market, carols in the Cathedral and the candlelit parade; there were even real reindeers

Sonali made my day ... she was so eager to see the parade and said "I think I'm going to die of happiness"  ...  how wonderful is that :-)

Following the mid-day parade Sonali and I enjoyed a lovely half hour carol service in Rochester Cathedral

Christmas is coming!!!

At time of writing there are only 22 days 5 hours and      55 minutes until Christmas ... so today it was time to get the decorations up in the student centre.
It was also Mohammad Sharsheer's (pictured left) last day with us.

Please don't go ...

Obviously some instructions needed here ...
