Mental Health Awareness week

Did you know that May 14th - 20th 2018 is
Mental Health Awareness week.

There are so many helpful websites out there, with a plethora of great tips on how to look after your own well-being and reduce levels of stress  ...  but maybe you're too tired or frustrated to even look.

Here's just one website I've been looking at recently  ...
www.mentalhealth.org.uk

Two things I'd particularly recommend are ...

1. A downloadable booklet entitled 'How to Manage and Reduce Stress'.  Packed with helpful and achievable tips!!

2. A blog entry called 'My Stress Footprint' which I found particularly challenging. Each of us might take time to consider the factors, people and situations that cause us stress, but what about the footprint we leave in other people's lives. Do we infact display habits or tendancies that regularly stress other people?  Oooooh, a tough question to ask!!

A thought for today!

International Nurses Day

Tomorrow is International Nurses Day and I'd like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all those who are dedicated to serving the sick, here in our hospitals and care homes, but also around the world. Thank you in particular to those students currently training at Christ Church Canterbury University here at the Medway Campus to be adult nurses, child nurses and mental health nurses. Not only your skills but your compassion is much appreciated.

Where are they now? Adeline

THEN  ...  2013
Well, hello from sunny Chennai, India. My name is Adeline Preethe
and I studied
at the University of Greenwich back in 2013.

I am now the Senior Project Coordinator at the International Center for Cardiovascular and Thoracic diseases, and I oversee the Clinical Trials and pre-clinical studies ongoing in the Clinical Research Department. It's both hard and satisfying work which I am really grateful to God for.

... and NOW!
My daughter, who I am sure some will remember me crying for every Sunday at church; is now in her fourth grade and making me a proud mummy. My days at Greenwich, Medway Campus are still a very fond memory that I revisit all the time.

I hope your year was as blessed as mine.

With love and regards
Adeline.
