Craft Fair

'Aiste the Brave' came to help me again today at a craft fair which was part of Wigmore Arts Weekend, held at St Matthew's Church.

We got to meet our local MP, Rehman Chishti, and Councillor Mike O'Brien
"Dear Mr Chishti, please don't forget that I'd like to bring some students
for a visit to the Houses of Parliament. I'll be in touch soon :-)"

Here are some of our crafts ...

... and this is my new friend, Peter Penguin, who cost me all of £1.50 :-)

Sadly, Peter soon came under attack by some crazy, savage Lithuanian ...

Boot Fair

Car Boot Fairs are increasingly popular in the UK and, although I've visited many, today was the first time I ever loaded the car to over-flowing, got up at 5am and drove to a nearby field to try to sell a stack of unwanted books, dvds, crockery, etc.
A BIG THANK YOU goes to Chris and Aiste who came along to help.  We made £50.50 which will go into the kitty for our various student/international activities.

Bring & Share Lunch

A HUGE THANK YOU
to Ian & Jeri for hosting our Bring and Share lunch today.
You have a beautiful home and lovely garden ...
thank you for letting us share it!
It was also a great pleasure to have Mohamed's parents
join us for the afternoon, on their visit here from Saudi Arabia.
"Ilya, this was your last time with us and we'll miss you as you return
to France on Tuesday. But we look forward to seeing you back here
for a visit and your graduation in July."

For anyone who might be interested, here's Jeri's scrumptious but simply Poppyseed Chicken recipe ...

Brighton Trip

On Saturday, June 7th we took 100 students to Brighton for a day trip. The weather forecast really wasn't so great, so when students turned up for the coach in shorts and t-shirts we were a little concerned. On route to Brighton we drove through torrential rain; but the laugh was on me who ended up walking around all day carrying my coat in a day of wall-to-wall sunshine.

Great photo :-)
