Faith Space changes

Please be aware that there have been some changes to our weekly timetable for the Campus Faith Space. We ask all students and staff to respect those times when the space is allocated for a specific faith group.

Farewell to Basim

Hopefully it's not goodbye Basim,
it's more a case of
"we'll see you again sometime."

After an entertaining evening of Charades - not an easy or quiet undertaking with 25+ people - we piled over to the Bollywood Buffet for a scrumptious meal.

"Basim, saying 'farewell' is by far the worst part of my role.
You have been such an integral part of TABLEtalk and the World Cafe and just about any event I've organised since you arrived. I will miss your infectious smile, your sense of humour and  your constant willingness to help me out with everything from garden shed construction to World Mental Health Day. You are a credit to your parents and I send my very best regards to all your family as you return home.
My hope and my prayer is that Almighty God will open up
the right door for you, in the right place, at the right time.
You deserve the very best!!"

Medway Moves for Molly

It was a pleasure and a privilege to help out with the Medway Moves for Molly event on Sunday (22nd).
A very BIG THANK YOU to all those who came along to make the event such a success.
Amount raised totalled £2513 ... amazing!!!

Aiste and I spent most of the day at the reception, taking entrance money and explaining more about what the event had to offer. On occasion we helped Kirsty with the plethora of raffle tickets she was selling.
There were lots of different sports activities on offer and half hour tasters of such things as zumba and something disturbingly entitled 'armageddon'!!

Quite a few of the students had a go at the bungee run ...

As well as sitting volleyball, tug-of-war, etc ...

There was soooooooo much happening for all the family, from the young to the not so young.
"Hmmm, so I've conquered hook-a-duck,
what shall I do next."
The day was rounded off with our fantastic raffle. Jane patiently read out the winning numbers whilst we all waited with baited breath to hear our numbers called.

"Look Mum, I won driving lessons!!"
We just love making money for a worthy cause!!
My sincere hope and prayer is that this event was a huge blessing to Molly's family and friends; and that the money raised will help to bring hope and healing to those struggling with eating disorders.

PLEASE NOTE: if there are photos of your children on this blog that you would prefer to be removed, please send me a message.

Happy Diwali

Diwali is the Hindu Festival of Lights and celebrates the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
As usual we had our own small Diwali event at the World Cafe, with decorations, Indian snacks and henna tattoos.  Thanks Aiste for all your help :-)

This one is mine :-)
