Summer BBQ

As always a REALLY MASSIVE THANK YOU to Luke, Martha, Alfie and Matilda for hosting our summer BBQ yesterday
With special thanks to Matilda for the two great games she organised.

The weather had cooled by about 10c, which after extended weeks of sunshine, came as a bit of a shock to our systems.
There's nothing I love more than an international gathering, so it was great to eat together with folk from Egypt, India, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Uganda and Nepal, with a fair smattering of Brits thrown in.
Several of us had a good conversation about what Facebook adds to society and, in turn, to our lives.
Personally, I believe that God made us to be in community and we are in danger of killing the amazing, age-old art of good conversation. The art of creating meaningful community and a true sense of belonging by bringing diverse people together around questions of life that really matter.

Ahmed asked if I wanted to take baby Tala home with me
''Yes'' I said ''When shall I bring her back?''
''When we've finished our PhDs'' came the response!!!
It did get a tad chilly, so Martha
produced blankets for all :-)
