University of Kent Graduations

Yesterday, July 10th, I attended University of Kent graduation ceremonies for the first time.  Graduation days are always such special occasions.

I didn't think I would know so many students that were graduating, so it was lovely to see some familiar faces  ...  like Rob Byrne and Chris Blewitt, who both attend St Mark's.

I was invited for the VIP luncheon which was a wonderful three-course lunch with champagne and wine held in the newly refurbished crypt at Rochester Cathedral (Note to self - several glasses of wine at lunch lead to a super sleepy afternoon)

Lovely to see Clement Chan graduate too. Clement, from Malaysia, has been a regular at so many of our events.

During the afternoon ceremony the parents of Molly McLaren came to receive a posthumous award. Molly's life was very tragically taken from her last year and this was an emotional day for them, and all of Molly's friends and academics.
The sunflower makes up part of the image for the Molly McLaren Foundation which raises money in support of those struggling with eating disorders.
