Ramsgate & Broadstairs Trip

Another fantastic student trip on Saturday. This time to the Kent coastal towns of Ramsgate and Broadstairs.

Our day began with a tour of the World War II tunnels at Ramsgate. Three miles of tunnels that helped save hundreds and hundreds of lives as Ramsgate was bombed throughout the war.
Students learned about Morrison shelters (which 7 of us squeezed in to) and Anderson shelters

We enjoyed learning more about what it was like for people to take shelter once the air raid sirens sounded.
There's nothing like a hardhat to bring on a selfie moment.

Then we had some free time to explore to harbour, visit the town or simply drink coffee, before we re-boarded the bus for the 20 minute drive to Broadstairs.

Even though the weather wasn't brilliant, everyone enjoyed some time at the beach :-)

All-in-all, another success  ...  I think!
