On a personal note ...

On Monday, October 3rd, I enjoyed a wonderful and much needed day off with my dear friend Jenny.  We went to Guildford Cathedral to see the spectacular exhibition by Jacqui Parkinson, entitled 'Threads through Creation'.  A series of 12 huge panels depicting the story of creation in vivid colour and creativity.

'In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.'

 

'And God said, "Let there be light", and there was light.'

'And God said, "Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.'

'Then God said, "Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds. And it was so.'

'And God said, "Let there be light in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night...'

'And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky"'

'Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds.'

'... the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.'

'How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down from earth ...'

'In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The Lord God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die"'

'"You will not certainly die", the serpent said to the woman, "For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil ..."'

'And the Lord God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden.'

From the outside Guildford Cathedral is far from the most attractive, but the inside is so simple and, I would say, rates as the most beautiful cathedral I've ever visited.

TABLEtalk is BACK!!!

All day I felt both excited and nervous.  Excited  ...  TABLEtalk is back in person after 2 1/2 years on Zoom 😀; but I was also nervous  ...  what if nobody comes 😟😟

I need not have worried, we got off to a fantastic start in our new location, with eight new students!!!

"This was something new for me and I absolutely loved it. It was very engaging and I got to learn new things about people and it's really helping me come out of my comfort zone and be out there 😀 Looking forward to the next session 😀"  Aditya
