Rochester and Quiz Trail

We had such a great day out on Saturday (25th) at our Rochester Trip and Quiz Trail.  

31 students from China, Germany, Greece, India, Japan, Nigeria, Poland, Sri Lanka and the USA.

For many of our Indian students this was the first time they had been on a British train  ...  which obviously warranted a selfie 😀

Our day began with our Quiz Trail challenge, which took students on a nice walk all around the town. Along the way they had to find buildings, read notices, google and maybe, ask questions.  Sadly, once again, there was an event in the Cathedral so students weren't able to see inside.

A Brief History of the Town Crier ...

Long before we had newspapers, television and the internet, we had the Town Crier. It was their job to verbally spread news around the town, especially as many people could not read. Town Criers were appointed by the King/Queen and it was an act of treason to attack the Town Crier, even if they brought bad news. This is where we get the saying "don't shoot the messenger".

"I would like to thank you for the trip. I didn't had any clue when I signed up for the Rochester trip. I wanted to explore and make some new friends. The whole trip was amazing . People from different cultures coming together, getting to know each other and spending time together, it was more than what I expected. I  made many friends and really looking forward for more such activities. I should mention the quiz trail it was lot of fun looking for clues and finding answers for all those tricky questions .
