Here in the UK, the
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK
for 2022 runs from May 9th-15th.
This year's theme is 'LONELINESS' which, as a result of the past two years, has and is affecting more and more people. The organisation Mental Health UK describe loneliness as 'a negative feeling we experience when there is a mismatch in the relationships we want and the ones we have, both in terms of quality and quantity. Loneliness is about feeling alone, though not necessarily being alone.'
The link below also identifies some of the differences between 'short-term transient loneliness' and 'long-term chronic loneliness'.
