TABLEtalk - Truth or Lies?

Many thanks to all those who have become regulars at TABLEtalk and WELCOME to those newcomers we've met over the last few weeks.

Our theme at TABLEtalk last night was TRUTH or LIES?  We played the Dictionary Game where groups have to make up a definition of an obscure word.  All made up definitions are read along with the correct meaning hidden somewhere in the mix. Groups then vote on which they think is the correct one.

If they guess the correct one, they earn TEN points. However, if team A guesses the definition written by team B, then team B are awarded FIVE bonus points.

Can you guess which of these is the correct definition???

1. YEET

**  an exclamation of excitement or approval, often made when throwing something.

**  the cry of an armadillo

**  to make fun of something

**  a slang word used in casual conversation as a sign of agreement

**  the act of raising your plass in celebration

**  to throw or push an object or person, or to move fast

2. GROAK

**  a fungus affecting leafy trees in the spring time

**  to grab and choke

**  to look at or stare longingly

**  to be jealous, angry or loathing, expressing negativity to someone

**  an individual of suspicious character

**  disgusting!

3. MUSSITATE

**  the process by which muscles of the jaw aid chewing and digestion of food

**  to overcrowd the mind with unnecessary thoughts and worries

**  to stop, to put off, to bring an end to

**  a state of being confident

**  to talk indistinctly

**  to annihilate or destroy

Every time we play this game I am amazed by the creativity of our students 😀😀😀

In addition, we had some discussion around what professions we trust and those we find untrustworthy.  This is always an interesting topic as students bring their own cultural experiences to the mix.  In general we all trusted pilots (thank goodness) and fireman; but politicians and the police didn't fare so well 😠😠

See below for the Dictionary Game results ...
